Had a few treatments with Joe Barton, who is a very knowledgeable and capable physiotherapist. I am now in a much better state. Thanks very much Joe.

I went to see Rob after dealing with hip pain which occurred after lifting in the gym. Within two sessions my hip pain was no longer present, and I was able to lift again without no pain. On my third session, Rob examined my lifting form and was able to find flaws within my posture which was quickly fixed within the session. Prior to being discharged, Rob gave me a lot of knowledge on stuff that I can do within and outside the gym to improve my overall mobility and performance.

Few weeks after post-discharge, I am back squatting and deadlifting in the gym feeling much stronger and healthy than before, but more importantly, pain free!

I found Rob to be very insightful and caring, and would highly recommend in using his service.

Rob is an expert in his field, he really goes the extra mile to give his patients the best possible treatment available. Not only does he think outside the box, he also puts maximum effort into his treatment methods, I had every confidence in Rob’s ability and he did not once let me down. I woke up one morning and could barely walk because of my lower back, at which point I decided to visit a Chiropractor, I had 3 sessions with the Chiropractor and didn’t feel that the treatment was helping, and the methods being used were too intense for the injury I had suffered. I found Rob after reading a few positive reviews and gave him a call, this was the best decision I had made in terms of identifying somebody who could help me. After my first session I could tell that Rob was a genuine guy who had a passion for the work that he did. Over the duration of a few months Rob had really helped me get back to normality, this really meant a lot to me, especially as I am normally a very active person. It can be difficult to locate someone that you feel confident in when you’re recovering from an injury, but Rob will guide you in the right direction if you follow his advice. I highly recommend Rob.

Went to see Rob after a few months of house extension stress and DIY had gotten the better of me and after a few sessions he managed to break my muscles back into submission. It was exactly what I needed, no nonsense, sports-style massage, with some good tips on how to help myself further. Highly recommended!

Thoroughly recommended. Rob has the sports pedigree to back up physical treatment with professional knowledge and practical guidance. He provided the treatment I needed after suffering a severe ankle injury and of equally importance perhaps, helped me ask the right questions when subsequently dealing with my doctors and consultants.

He has had the privilege of working with some of the best Cricketers in the world through his work with Leicestershire County Cricket and his support to a number of England Programmes through the ECB, where he has been a physio of choice. Rob has also worked with athletes from Olympic sports at Loughborough University, so extends his experience to other team sports and individual sports such as Hockey, Triathlon and Swimming, to name just a few.

At Leicestershire County Cricket Rob has singlehandedly set up a highly effective physio department, where, among other things, he has developed effective and time efficient rehabilitation protocols in order to return Cricketers to play in the in the shortest time that is feasibly possible. Throughout this process, however, he has not neglected his professionalism and duty of care in doing a thorough job.

Rob is extremely well qualified in a number of different areas and continues to push his professional development forwards. One of Rob’s expertise lies in functionally screening his athletes and putting protocols in place to iron out imbalances and create a well-rounded sports person who is robust enough to withstand the rigours of modern sports. His injury reduction statistics are a testament to his effectiveness in this area.

Rob works well both as a team member and leader, is highly organised and works well under pressure. All these skills have been honed through working in the high-pressure environment of professional sports.

Through his work at his private clinic, Rob has also gained a wealth of experience in working with the young athletes, the elderly, non-athletes, clinical referrals and people from all walks of life. He is able to adapt his skills from elite level sports to working with the general public with the highest level of professionalism and empathy.

I had the privilege of working alongside Rob at Leicestershire County Cricket and through the ECB for a number of of years, and would not hesitate to recommend him as both a highly skilled and able physiotherapist as well as an individual of immense quality. Rob comes with my highest recommendation.”

Rob has treated me for a variety of injuries over the past 5 years. Whatever the issue, whether it be post operation care, or a simple muscle strain, Rob has guided me through the process of recovery, from diagnosis through rehabilitation, with care and acute attention to detail, leaving no stone unturned to make sure that recovery is as swift as possible yet thorough therefore preventing further injury.

I have used a number of physio’s in my career, and can confidently say that Rob is of the highest standard, and I can trust his judgement implicitly, which isn’t always the case in his profession.

I have recommended his services to family and colleagues at work, all of whom speak glowingly of his abilities.

“During summer 2010 I had been having difficulty training and competing due to an injured shoulder. Having been seen by doctors and various physios nothing seemed to help until I saw a consultant at Oxford who after an MRI scan referred me to Rob Leather. Within a few minutes on my first visit Rob had identified the problem and quickly helped me back to full fitness.

The next year I had what appeared to be a groin injury, which again doctors and physios and MRI scan seemed unable to pinpoint or help and my training and competition came to a halt for several weeks. As a last resort I went back to Rob who again diagnosed the problem in minutes and with his help I was back to fitness very quickly.

Since then I had a back injury and with Rob’s help, treatment and advice I have been able to fully train and compete at the highest level. Injuries are inevitable in sport, I have the greatest confidence in Rob as a physiotherapist and he is now my first port of call.”

“First and foremost, Rob Leather is an incredible physiotherapist.

His encyclopedic knowledge, bedside manner and strategic approach to physical treatment is complimented by his experienced and pointed help with psychological and mental recovery.
Rob’s calm approach reassured me as a patient, and his thorough diagnosis gave me the confidence that he had established the cause as well as the problem, before we moved onto treatment.

With Rob there is a strategy, a plan, recovery methods and best practices to adopt, with the knowledge needed to do this in a safe manner, whilst making those small steps; vital to an amateur or professional athlete to see their goals as achievable in the long or short term.

His practice is always welcoming, clean and friendly. Quite simply I trust Rob with my physical and mental health, and believe he’d get me fit for any task within his safe and realistic time frame.

A consummate professional. Rob began as my physio, I now regard him as my friend. “
